I am currently hanging out at Panera. This time i decided to try the asiago cheese bagel w/ hazelnut cream cheese. Was pretty tasty, but i have to say that the cinnamon toast crunch bagel is much tastier.
Being that i am suppose to be studying for my real estate class, i am human so i easily get distracted, and was watching an episode of “burn notice” on hulu. I don’t know what i would do with out hulu. The ability to watch shows that you never have time to watch when they are actually on, and i am too cheap for tivo or a dvr.
Yesterday, while i was at home studying the different types of property ownership’s and laws, i really got into The Raconteurs. The first time i really listened to them, is when i saw them live at the KROQ Weenie Roast. Those guys were amazing. Now that i have all of the albums (wont tell you how i got them) i have been listening to them like crazy. My favorite songs are the following:
Track: Album:
Steady As She Goes Broken Soldiers
You Don’t Understand Me Consolers Of The Lonely
Many Shades of Black Consolers Of The Lonely
Carolina Drama Consolers Of The Lonely
I think what i most admire about them is that not too many singers out there have an original voice like Jack White does, but after hearing Brendan Benson’s voice, you can really feel what he is saying…. Keep it up Brendan!!!!
Take a listen and let me know what you think….

In my real estate book, it says:
“All property acquired by a husband and wife during a valid marriage—except for certain separate property—is called community property. Community property excludes property acquired before marriage or during marriage by gift or inheritance.”
So i guess you should buy a house before you get married, as well as a your car, your yacht, and any other high valued property huh?
But there is a catch:
“If spouses want to maintain the status of their separate property, they must be very careful not to commingle it with their community property. For example, if community property funds are used to offset the negative cash flow of an apartment building that is separate property, the apartment building will become community property.”
This clause was probably suggested by a female being that statistically, men are the ones bringing home the bread….
DAMN YOU ROSIE THE RIVETER AND DOUBLE DAMN YOU SUSAN B. ANTHONY!!!!!!!!

one thing i cant stand (having worked in food for the past 9 years), is when people go to a restaurant, usually with one or more persons, and one of them brings in food from the outside. DON’T DO IT!!!!!!!! You obviously are going to that restaurant because the food there interests you. If you are standing around at home with your friends or family and are trying to decide what to eat, usually you come to an agreement on where and what you want to eat. If someone cant agree with the rest of the group, you don’t say “wait one minute while i make a sandwich, and ill join you). NO, STOP IT!!!!!! You just wait at home, or you suck it up, go with the rest of the group, and either get something or don’t.

it is 10:40 am here in california, and i am currently at Panera Bread listening to TWIT (This Week In Tech) with Leo Laporte. If anyone out there wants to keep up to date with what is going on in the technology world, this is the number one podcast i belive in the world.
I also am studying for my real estate exam. I just recieved all of my books and study guides yesterday, so now i can attack it full fledged. Currently i am reading “California Real Estate Principles”. It is kind of boring cause so far it just talks about california history, while creatively throwing in some real estate specific terms.
Being that i am a horrible studier, if anyone would like to chat with me, i am logged onto meebo.com and my contact info is below.
ICQ: 213232698

BTW, if anyone is interested, i highly suggest the cinnamon toast crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese.

One thing in this world that i just cant quite understand is internet advertising. One thing that i do know is that everyone does it and few people/business depend on it for an income. I do understand that most businesses budget for advertising to help get there name out in public attention.
What i am getting at is that it just makes me sick seeing companies like facebook, youtube and hulu survive solely on advertising.
Facebook: Yes, they may have a few million users (no sure on exact numbers), but how many users click on those rather annoying banners or adsense ads?
Youtube/Hulu: I think Mark Cuban (owner of the Dallas Mavericks) said it best on his blog: http://www.blogmaverick.com/2008/06/16/hulu-is-kicking-youtubes-ass/
If anyone out there would like to enlighten me, please let me know.
My main reason for this post, is because i am watching a show on Hulu.com, and for a while, i have noticed nothing but advertisements for non-profit orgonizations such as the one above. How is it that hulu is making any kind of money, or even better, why would hulu want to take money from a non-profit organization? That is like taking a scholarship from your elementary school (making fun of my sister-in-law)….

I am the one on the left, and the beautiful girl to my right is my wife of 11 months. We wanted to get married sooner, but we met right as I was leaving for the Air Force. She was a full time student in college, so getting married was not an option. I have been out of the military for two years now (maybe ill have some stories later on), and am loving every bit of it.
The hard thing is trying to get my life, and most importantly “our” life together. She is on a successfull track in the clothing industry with O’Neill clothing (good use of her major in business-econ huh), but since I have been out things havent been so easy.
My friend of 19 years said it best, “Justin, you are a man of many hats”. Yes, my life in general I have worn many hats. Do I have a disorder? Am I lost in life? These are things that I have been trying to figure out.
One mistake that I made in life was dropping out of college. My reasons are not important at the moment, but we will get into that later on as well. Most recently i have decided to go back to college and try pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems. Most people would see this as an ambitious dream for someone who has worked in the food industry for the past 9 years, but those that really know me know that i probably know more about computers than the majority of the people that know me or know of me.
Having not been in school for eight years, started to take one class at a time while working full time as a purchasing manager for a local college. With the help of my wife, I recieved two B’s out of two classes. Not bad huh? Well, this is the start of a new life for me, because due to the downfall of the economy lately, i have decided to stop working “temporarily” and go to school full time.
The college that I am attending is in the middle of the summer session, so have to weight 5 more weeks until the fall quarter starts. Until than, my wife suggested that i do Real Estate School to keep my mind going, and be productive so that i do not fall back into old habbits.
I have done a lot of research for real estate schools, and after a few weeks of searching, http://www.realestatelicense.com/ seemed to be the best choice and had the best reviews. I forked over the money yesterday, and now am waiting for my books to arrive, hopefully tomorow.
In this blog, i will be doing my best to stay up to date with what is going on with my road to success and hopefully no more hats will be needed. By the way, my wife says that i do not look good in hats, so i need to hurry it up huh?
Also, i promise that this will be my longest post. I love being picked on, and criticism, so go ahead and make some comments on my grammar and writing skills.
With Regards,
Justin
